DOG Days
DOG DAYS was written and released as somewhat of a Hail Mary in my musical career. I have been in Nashville since I graduated High School, and a few years ago I found myself fighting through a bad phase of burnout (video below for the song that started it all). I started getting older and was on the backside of my 20's emerging out of the pandemic. I was making music to make money and trying to have a viral moment so I could finally make a full time career of it. In the process of trying to reach all of these goals, I lost sight of what I was doing and who I was doing it for and I could see my whole career struggling. Everything had become so strategic and nothing about the process felt organic and free anymore. I was newly independent and unsure of what to do next, so I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine - to record a full length record. I went back to where everything started. Me, in a room with some instruments and my computer. Friends stopped by to hang out and help write what we were feeling in those moments, and for weeks it was like I was a kid again. No social media or outside influences - just my own thoughts and connections and music. At first, the message was dark and pointless. But I hope through listening, you’ll witness the evolution that I went through in order to find myself and my love for music again. The joy and meaning came back to me and for the first time in a long time, I made something that I love unconditionally and that I believe really represents me to the fullest extent. I have been making what I consider to be the best music of my career, and it's all a product of this world I have created over these past few years of positivity, acceptance, exploration and good vibes. DOG DAYS is really the first introduction to my music in a lot of ways and I could not be more proud to share this with you all. The full record available everywhere on MAY 20, pre-save at the link below to be one of the first listeners! Video by Emma Kate Golden at Golden Movie Ranch

Reviews
“Cummins crafts songs with sharply tuned lyricism, letting her wisened alto capture an emotional crackle in each one.”
“A mix of thoughtful country‑pop and alt‑country tracks tinged with roots and R&B touches. The central element holding them all together is Cummins’ expansive voice.”
— Holler Country on New Artist of the Week, Zoe Cummins
"I love this song! I think it is a unique idea, which isn’t always easy to find. I’ve never heard a song written about this subject before. I’m a sucker for 6/8 time and I love the John Prine style of the verse melody and phrasing.”
“GREAT SONG! And you have a cool voice too! Looking forward to hearing more from you.”
- Martina McBride on “Oldest Child” by Zoe Cummins
“Grade: A”
“This has all the charm of a lost Conway & Loretta duet, retro in sound but thoroughly modern in content.”
“…the song itself is such an empathetic and smart glimpse into the kinds of relationships that seem to terrify mainstream country music these days that “Common Law” has insinuated itself as one of my favorite singles of the year.”
“…it’s just such a phenomenally well-balanced cut across the board.”
- Kevin John Coyne (Country Universe’s Single Review Roundup) on “Common Law” by Zoe Cummins and Gabe Lee
